When we think of the ideal mismatched bridal party, something extremely reminiscent of what Kerith and her girls executed is what comes to mind. Kerith knew just 24 hours after Andy popped the question in a sea of decorated Christmas trees that New Year’s Eve the following year was THE date to celebrate their marriage. Her bridesmaids, though perfectly varied, had one thing in common: just the right amount of sparkle for the occasion!
From The Bride:
Andy and I have known OF each other for some time, we attended rival high schools. He had sent me a message one day just saying Hi, and seeing how I was doing. We chatted back and forth for a good bit of time, then exchanged phone numbers. It was about two weeks of friendly flirting back and forth before I left for a week long cruise and honestly couldn’t stop thinking about him. When I got back, I agreed to meet him for dinner and the rest is history!!
The weekend of my 29th birthday, he had planned this surprise weekend away. He didn’t even tell me what to pack so I had a little of everything. My mom even mentioned that I should have my nails done just in case. I was anxious all weekend, selfishly expecting a proposal. In true Andy fashion, he knew not to do it when I would expect it, even though he already had the ring! So we enjoyed each others company as boyfriend and girlfriend. It would be our last 🙂 The next weekend, we had plans to go to his families Christmas Tree Farm in Richmond, Ohio. Andy was jittery and nervous all day (exactly how I felt the weekend prior!) We took off through the farm to find the perfect tree. As we turned down an aisle, in a sea of beautiful green trees, we walked upon a tree decorated with lights and ornaments. I, leading the way, turned around to him to say “how odd…” and he was on one knee. Neither of us really remember what was said. It was such a fantastic blur!! I didn’t even look at the ring, I just hugged him! His cousin was hiding in the rows of trees snapping photos of my “YES!” I told Andy I was going to enjoy the Christmas season before planning a single thing. Less than 24 hours after he proposed, I had set the date – New Years Eve 2016!!
Both my mother and I like to plan parties, it’s always been something that we take very serious. We love to entertain, so when we started planning it just took off! We had most of our vendors booked within the next month! Andy knows I am off the charts Type A personality, so he provided his opinions but he let me take major reins on the planning process. We had so much fun planning our big day. Knowing our big day was taking place on such a fun holiday, all of our friends and family would be here to ring in the New Year with us as newlyweds, really made the planning that much more special. We wanted our guests to have the night of their lives! It was truly the best way we could’ve imagined to celebrate!
