We all know that millennial pink is having a moment, but we’ve never seen it look THIS good! And while Claudette’s look alone has us reconsidering white altogether, the story behind the color seals the deal: The decision to tie the knot in blush was, in part, a nod to the outfit she wore the day of her proposal. “When Jonathan proposed I had my blush tulle skirt on, so thought it would be cool to follow it through.” Watch Claudette and Jonathan’s beautiful wedding by Parfait Productions to see more of her stunning blush Vera Wang wedding gown, then read more about their love-filled, tearjerking celebration.

Your and Jonathan’s vows are so moving! Tell us how you met and how you fell in love.
We met in college. We had one of the same classes together but both our schedules were messed up so we landed up having private lessons together for a while. He asked me out for Starbucks and we chatted for a long time. He told me he wouldn’t be my boyfriend as he was moving to Canada and I said ‘we’ll see’! The rest is history. I moved across the world with him and his family and haven’t looked back.

We are obsessed with your blush wedding dress! How did you decide on such a unique piece?
When shopping I found the white white dresses too stark against my skin tone. I wanted something that would make me stand out as the venue was quite neutral and white also. When Jonathan proposed I had my blush tulle skirt on, so thought it would be cool to follow it through. I love blush but didn’t want to go over the top with decor, so I used it as an accent colour, and my dress. My parents came out to visit in February and my mum and mother in law came shopping with me and we found it hanging up. I tried it on and loved it but it was at our first appointment. At the end of the day it was between that, and one close but in ivory with a black belt. I went back and tried the blush one on again and cried.

What was the most unexpected thing about your wedding day?

How hungry I was. Everyone always says oh you wont get time to eat, but I really tried and still failed. I had a good breakfast and snacks in the room but I barely ate the dinner and was exhausted by the end of the day.

What was your favorite part of your wedding journey?

I loved creating all the stationery and paper details. Working in the industry I see so many different styles so it was fun creating something just for us. It did take a while to narrow it down but we were really happy with the outcome.

What’s your #1 piece of advice for future brides?

Get over the top excited about your wedding! I tend to hold emotions in and when it came to the wedding I had a mini breakdown half way through because all the excitement caught up on me. Milk being a bride. Wear the t-shirt and the veil and have all the showers and bachelorette parties!

Anything else our viewers should know?

We watch our video all the time. If you are on the fence about it, do it. Photos are amazing but having a video really lets you remember the emotion and feeling of the day, and when the day is over, it’s those memories that you have left.
